A buddy of mine at work recommended a great open source software package called, “Portable Apps.” From portableapps.com website. You will need a spare USB drive. I recommend a minimum 4 GB USB flash drive. But the amount of free software is unreal.
You get Open Office (a free office style software suite), KeepSafe (a encrypted password safe), Firefox, Thunderbird, etc.
I highly recommend this download and it’s totally free.
Go to http://www.portableapps.com to get a copy of it. Enjoy! Tony

This website pretty much has it all.

I am a firm believer the Apple iPhone is one of the best tech invention of all times. It’s one of the best devices to have instant access to:
- Multiple emails
- Surf the Internet
- Free Apps such as Facebook, USATODAY, etc.
- Music iPod
- Built-in GPS to use on road trips for directions.
- Shop online
- And many more features.
The limits so far are:
Battery Life => Only 4 hours of use per charge
Only 8 gig and 16 gig models at this time.

If I am not paranoid enough, The History Channel is running an all out Armageddon week special. I have seen one episode already discussing about the December 20, 2012 prediction.
Also, there are over a million other ways we are supposedly going to be wiped off this planet.
Click here to view all the episodes from The History Channel website.
My humble opinion, we will see December 22, 2012.

This is a heartfelt message for those who serve in all U.S. Military forces. - tm
The embers glowed softly, and in their dim light,
I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight.
My wife was asleep, her head on my chest,
My daughter beside me, angelic in rest.
Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white,
Transforming the yard to a winter delight.

The new Killers album was available for one day early download from iTunes. I pre-ordered last week and poof…..it was ready.
The new album is called, “Day & Age.”
So far my favorite songs are, “Spaceman” and “Forget about what I said.”
But I only had the album for 12 hours. I burnt a CD to listen to it on my laptop at work to really get a feel.
Also, the new Guns-N-Roses CD came out. This will be on my Christmas list this year to have in my listening collection.

Saturday Night Live Logo
It has been long overdue. I have now create a Saturday Night live category on Maddin.net.
I will post the Maddin family favorite video clips.
This should be exciting.
I will also post various band videos that perform on SNL as well.
I love the latest political skits.
My favorite actor on the SNL of all times is Will Farrell.

The Mid-May trip to PIB was simply awesome.
One of the highlights of the trip was getting to see the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.
The exhibits were pretty cool to see up close and in-person.

Then it was a nice drive over to the island on a sunny, beautiful day.
We stayed at a new bed and breakfast. It was nice waking up to a lake side view during the weekend. And of course, I had to eat my lake perch.
The wine was already in full season swing, so this year I bought a new wine from Heineman’s Winery called the, “Gewürztraminer”. It was a sweet, white wine that was a bit different than I am used to drinking from this winery. http://www.heinemanswinery.com
Our second trip will be during the 2008 Christmas in July. (More information to follow later.)
